Andy’s first exposure to Advanced Life Support courses was in 1992 when he did his original ALS provider course at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. Andy completed his Advanced Life Support Instructor training in 1994 and has been actively teaching resuscitation ever since.

Andy held the position of Resuscitation Officer in the Highlands of Scotland from 1997 to 2007, responsible for developing and organising resuscitation training for 1500 doctors, nurses and allied health workers. Andy also coordinated the Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support course (ALS) as an Instructor and Course Director.

He also instructed on and directed the European Paediatric Life Support course (EPLS) and coordinated the Advanced Trauma Life Support course (ATLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP). Andy has also completed the Major Incident Management course (MIMMS) and has instructed on BASICS courses in Scotland.
